TWIST TRI-CITIES PRESENTS….
TRAIN FOR YOUR SPORT: HOCKEY EDITION
WITH COACH CALLUM
Want to learn the secret that every NHL player already knows?
Physical Strength = Total Domination on the Ice
For off-ice hockey training to be effective at increasing athletic ability on the ice, it needs to be hockey-specific. You’re not in the gym to become better at lifting weights – you’re there to become a better hockey player. It also needs to be year round – gains made during off-season training are NOT PERMANENT!
Hockey players require muscular strength that can be converted into explosive power on demand. They need cardiovascular conditioning designed to give them sudden but short bursts of energy. Hockey players are also prone to specific muscular imbalances, mobility issues and injuries. That’s why TWIST has dedicated the last 26 years to developing our one of a kind hockey training programs that have made the NHL draft dreams of over 150 aspiring players come true.
Using TWIST’s tested and proven hockey training blueprint, this clinic will:
- Build strength, speed and explosiveness to maximize skating speed and agility
- Build core strength to add power to your shot
- Increase mobility to improve range of motion and reduce risk of injury
- Improve balance and anti-rotational strength to win puck battles and absorb checks
- Build stamina to carry you through all 3 periods

CALLUM VOLPE
Coach Callum grew up playing a variety of sports, but hockey was always his main pursuit.
After playing minor hockey in Port Coquitlam, he worked his way up to play Junior A hockey in the BCHL for four years. During those four years, Callum played for the Vernon Vipers, Powell River Kings, and Chilliwack Chiefs.
After a couple of unfortunate injuries slowed down his hockey career, Callum started to get involved in the off-ice portion of athletic training, becoming an ACE certified personal trainer and pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria.
After developing his passion for helping athletes succeed both in the gym and in competition, Callum has worked with hockey players of all ages, including some in the NHL ranks, as well as people from all walks of life.
